Come to our Mid-Advent Service @ Trinity

December 10th 2025 @ 6pm
Advent is a season that has almost been forgotten in our culture. It's difficult, in the fast paced world today where we often get what we want with very little waiting, to appreciate waiting. Waiting is an activity that most don't enjoy at all. Think about it, if we have to wait at all it can be infuriating. Long lines and delayed flights make us feel almost crazy. Consider something else. Waiting can be a wonderful blessing to us. Why? Waiting reminds us of who we truly are, people in need. In the book of Revelation Jesus tells the church: "17 For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see." (ESV - Rev. 3:17–18). The season of Advent reminds us that we exist dependent, not independent. We live every moment of every day in need of all that God provides. So we wait...We wait for the celebration of the arrival of our Savior Jesus, born on Christmas! That's the blessing of Advent! It reminds us that in the waiting is where we live, but its not a bad thing at all,. Dependence on God who is faithful and trustworthy is wonderful, because He provides! One pastor puts it like this: "even the air we're breathing its not our air, its God's." See how faithful He is? Even between each breath we wait for the next, but its always there! Thank you Lord for providing even in the waiting, we trust in you.
Let's pray: "Lord Jesus, teach us to appreciate the waiting during the season of Advent. For the whole world exists awaiting the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We await that glorious day when the trumpet shall sound and the dead in Christ shall rise, and every eye will see and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father. Happy Advent! Come celebrate the waiting with us!
